The Laken Riley Act mandates the federal detention of illegal immigrants who are accused of theft, burglary, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and any crime that causes death or serious bodily injury. if you have any charge or a conviction (you plead guilty) to charges such as theft, burglary assault or similar, immigration shall arrest you and they will not release you. It is called compulsory detention.
