House Democrats approved two separate bills on immigration

House Democrats approved two separate bills on immigration Thursday, marking the first time Congress has voted on a pathway for citizenship for undocumented immigrants since Democrats won slim majorities in both chambers of Congress with President Joe Biden in the White House. The two bills are:

American Dream and Promise Act of 2021 

  1. If the child was 18 or below when they entered the USA
  2. Continuously present in the USA on and before 1/1/2021
  3. No crimes
  4. Is in school or register for ged
  5. Can most likely apply

Farm Act

1. Requirement for Certified Ag Worker (CAW) status
a. Temp status for those who have worked at least 180 days in the last 2 years
2. Long Term workers can apply for GC if:
a. Workers with 10 years of agricultural work before this law enactment date must complete 4 additional years of such work.
Or
b. Workers with less than 10 years of agricultural work before this law enactment date must complete 8 additional years of such work
c. Plus $1000 fine
